How To Show Up And Impress On The First Date: Tips For Girls
Jun0
When picking the right clothes for your date, always go for your personality and what you’re comfortable with. If you like what you’re wearing, you’ll feel confident. And guys sure are impressed about girls who are secure about the way they look. But still where the date will take place counts a lot.
A classic dinner date calls for a little black dress. A coffee date or lunch day time dress calls for a more casual look. It’s always a good advice to pick a dress for the date a few days ahead. You can simply browse through the pages of a fashion magazine to know what to wear, if you wish to look current and trendy.
The saying that less is more also applies during the first date. When it comes to your make up, put on something light to achieve a natural look. Besides, most guys want their dates to look simple and not trashy. Keep your fashion accessories to a minimum. Go for small rhodium earrings, plain necklace or simple bangles, instead of cheap-looking, jingly and chunky ones.
Clutch bag, hobo handbags, shoulder bags: no matter what you prefer, they serve a greater purpose than completing your look. There are some things that you need to carry with you on your first date, in case that you need them. Other than picking something that matches your getup and personality, they should also have some must-haves.
Basic make up should be in your bag, such as pressed powder and lipstick for retouching. Tissue can be very handy when blotting out sweat, excess oils or even blowing your nose. A sweet-smelling perfume or cologne will help you smell and feel fresh throughout the date. A cell phone too is important, in case you need to be picked up afterwards.
Many girls have this habit of trying out some beauty tips found in fashion and beauty magazines. There’s nothing wrong with it; however, it’s best to do them at least a week prior to your first date. Even if they rely on natural ingredients or methods, still disasters may strike. Plus, you need to give those tips some time to fully work.
For example, you wish to follow the tips on an article on how to get rid of acne. If such is effective, you need to perform it days ahead for the effects to be completely evident. But should some untoward side effects take place, worry not. Your skin got plenty more days to heal itself before your first date.
Classical Elegance: Pearl Earrings UK
Oct0
Stylish and feminine, as a woman you know how important it is to have the latest new jewellery accessories, and some new earrings could be just what you need. If you’re looking for the perfect jewellery for an upcoming event, it can often be quite hard to know what to opt for due to the massive choice available on the high street. If individuality is what you’re looking for, a pair of pearl earrings will create a stunning look, and buying pearl earrings UK will also mean you get affordability coupled with elegance.
For centuries, pearl jewellery has been regarded as expensive and regal, as displayed by many pictures of women over the years. Pearl jewellery is without doubt considered to be truly elegant and timeless, and pearl hairpieces such as tiaras are often considered to be a sign of royalty.
Have you ever wondered why pearl jewellery is considered to be so valuable? Pearls are formed within an oyster shell and this naturally takes time. Although once a very naturally-occurring process, oysters are now carefully looked after for a number of years, waiting for the pearl formation.
With timeless elegance and renowned beauty, pearl jewellery is often handed down to younger generations to appreciate, and this could be in the form of antique or modern pearls. Pearl jewellery is just so easily accessible and it can be teamed with many different things; in particular, pearl earrings are the perfect statement-making option.
Hair jewellery and pearl jewellery often join forces in the accessory world and create hair clips and unusual combs. Expand your jewellery collection by buying pearl brooches to place on jackets – a very Chanel influenced style.
There are many occasions when pearl earrings and pearl jewellery can look perfect, and as such there is no set rule as to when you should wear them…in fact, many ladies like to live in their pearls!
Of course, many women still believe that the iconic little black dress is the ideal piece of clothing to complement pearl jewellery. The reason for this? Black and light-coloured pearls complement each other beautifully. Avoid an insipid white dress with a set of white pearls as the colours will just merge. If the temptation has hit you and you have decided to buy some pearls, take a look at pearl earrings UK for a truly glamorous selection.
It is important that you know the difference between genuine and fake pearls, and buying from a trusted jewellery company is essential. Read up on the Internet to enhance your knowledge of pearls, and then you know what to look for when it comes to genuine pearls. If you’re looking for something to hold its value and offer timeless chic for many years to come, pearl jewellery is the ideal purchase, and with thorough research you will be sure to find exactly what you’re looking for.
10 Ways to Accessorize the Plus Size Little Black Dress
Jul0
There’s probably one thing that all plus-size women and their wardrobes have in common. Should I let you guess? Yep, you’re right, it’s the predominance of black clothing. It’s funny. Somewhere along the way, we all seem to have bought into the idea that black is SLIMMING – and into the further idea that we needed to be “slimmed” by our clothing. An annoying concept for those of us who LIKE our curves. (And who see the irony in skinny women “enhancing” curves after starving to be slender.) Why can’t we all just get along??? LOL.
But I didn’t start this article to write all that. I started this article to talk about my favorite topic: the plus size little black dress. There is one thing that we ALL need in our wardrobe, and that’s the perfect little black dress. Why? Because that one garment can take you from your daytime doldrums to your night-time fantasies within seconds – and almost as simply as if your fairy godmother showed up with a pair of glass slippers and a pumpkin carriage!
First of all, make sure that you HAVE a few little black dresses on hand, and make sure they’re stylish and in good condition. Sometimes we wear them so often, that they’ve simply lost their pizzazz. If you need one or two new ones, be BOLD and go for a shorter hem or a lower neckline. After all, you can always toss on a great long, dramatic silk scarf (tied at the back of your neck) to create a more appropriate look for the office. When you leave for the day, tie that same scarf sideways around your waste to add an attention-getting extra to your ensemble.
What else can you do to pump up the volume? Here’s 8 more tips to get the ball rolling.
1. Stockings. Remember that a simple little black dress can carry a bigger accessory statement. Go for fishnet pantyhose! … or at least consider a few polka dots or a classy seam up the back.
2. Shoes. Okay, this is your chance to give yourself a REAL lift. The great thing about a black basic is that you can add almost ANY signature color to your accessories. Just make sure that you create a symphony of color – and not chaos. If your shoes are red, your scarf should feature the same shade too. You get the picture.
3. Think about a hat. Same reason. A basic black outfit can carry those amazing extras that a print or plaid might not. Just keep the chapeau to the same level of classiness.
4. Go for the gusto with ONE big signature piece of jewelry, instead of an ensemble.
5. Follow 7th Avenue’s latest craze and add a vibrant, colored trench over your little black dress!
6. Add a zipper! If you’ve seen anything in the media about fashion recently, you’ve probably noticed that exterior, exposed zippers are jazzing it up all over the place. Want to make a strong statement with little effort? Use double-sided tape to put a long faux zipper up the back of your dress – or hey – up the FRONT would be amazing! (Just remember, it will only get you through the night!) Remember to actually SEW the zipper in place if you love the look!
7. Got an old dress that you’re ready to replace? Add a few inches of lace at the bottom and at the neckline and save it for your next special occasion. Lace might be too dressy for the office, but it is always a go at weddings and christenings.
8. Finally, #8 (which is actually #10, if you’ve been keeping count!). It’s all in the bag! Okay, I try NOT to talk about bags in every accessory column – just because it’s so obvious, but for the perfect little black dress, we simply CAN’T overlook the bag. In this case, you don’t need to spend a TON of money either. Hit the local thrift store and look for the most amazing little handbag you can find – or the boldest. Remember, the great thing about the basic plus size little black dress is that it can make a BIG statement with just a LITTLE effort.
